_Swifties! Here’s news Taylor Swift fans would definitely like.
A course, "The Last Great American Songwriter: Storytelling with Taylor Swift Through the Eras," has been introduced in Stanford University’s curriculum.
A student named Ava Jeffs introduced the new course as part of the school’s student-initiated course programme.
The new course which is 10-week long will be offered in April. It is the latest to join a number of Swift courses offered at colleges across North America.
This will be the university’s second Swift-inspired programme. Earlier this year students at the institution were offered a course named - All Too Well (Ten Week Version) which was inspired by Swift’s All Too Well (Taylor’s Version) song.
As per the grading policy, students will only be rated as "satisfactory" or "non-satisfactory", and these grades will have no bearing on their Grade Point Average (GPAs).
Stanford’s Professor Mark McGurl will be supervising academic integrity and grading for the course.
Before this, another course by Swift was launched New York University’s Clive Davis Institute in February 2022.
In the previous year, classes about Swift’s songwriting were introduced at the University of Texas at Austin, Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, and New York University.
Courses on Beyonce, Lady Gaga, David Beckham are currently being taught in some of the prestigious universities around the world.
